Worst place ever !! I gave birth to my daughter (first child) in January & I was also moving further at the end of January & so I didn't know of any good pediatrics around where I was moving to. The nurse (at the hospital) came in my room to give me a list of pediatricians around and told me to just pick one for the meantime because my daughter will need to get checked by a pediatrician once I leave the hospital . I gave birth at 11pm & it was 2 am when the nurse came back and said she needed to know asap and so my husband and I quickly chose Nova Peds to get the nurse at the hospital out of my room so I can rest. Two days after I got out we went to Nova Peds and we had a pretty good experience there . I was even telling my husband that we chose a pretty good pediatric office for being half asleep. Welllll.... I spoke too soon ! We went in for my daughters 1 month check up and I had asked the nurse if we were going to get to see the doctor today and she said no. I said okay and asked her that since she's a nurse, could she give me some recommendations on good lotions for my daughters dry skin. She looked at me with a blank stare and didn't answer me . I asked her again and she said she couldn't answer my question and that it would cost me $30 . I looked at her with disgust and then she told me she would be right back . She came back with aveeno sample lotions and told me that I can try the samples and if I needed the Doctor to come in then they'll need to change the appointment to an emergency appointment and I would need to pay . I laughed and said forget it and took the lotion and left. Thennn... I took my daughter in for her 2 month checkup and it was the same nurse ... I asked the nurse if I was going to get to see the doctor today and she said "yes, at every wellness visit you'll get to see the doctor". Like what the hell ? How come I didn't see one at her 1 month checkup ?! Anyways .... After the doctor evaluated my daughter she asked if I had any questions or concerns and I did. I asked if she had any recommendations on how to cure the redness on my daughters neck from her sweat glands . The doctor told me it was normal and that she could send in a prescription for me if I wanted and so I said yes and thanked her for being so kind. Before walking out I asked the front desk if I had any payments that needed to be paid and they said I didn't and that I was good . 1 week later I get a call from nova peds saying I owe $30 & it was because I had a question about my daughters sweat glands at her 2 month wellness visit . The person who called me said the doctor charted my daughters appointment as two visits. Like seriously doctor ?! Its only $30 , but you're really that money hungry that you charged me because I was being a concern first time mother ?! I asked my colleagues if they ever experienced it with their pedi office and they were all shocked and said their offices never charged them for any questions or concerns at their kids wellness visit and that their offices were always caring and willing to help . It's so disgusting & insane how money hungry Nova Peds is ! I just got a letter in the mail from them stating I needed to pay the $30 or I'll get charged an extra $10 if it's not paid within 15 days , hahahahhaa ! I will not be going back .
