Long story short. I had a billing dispute. I hadn't received a statement ever until the 24th of December. My call was escalated to Vern Magnuson who told me he is Vice President and responsible for the practice who 1) didn't have his facts straight, 2) Screamed at me and threatened me 3) stated if I went to the office he would direct them to physically throw me out and 4) called me some not so nice names all for a "billing disagreement) and his language and tone was beyond rationale. I was shocked and it takes a lot to shock me. All without hearing me out but only heard from his billing clerk. Serious anger management issues and honestly if he would have been in my presence I would have run for the hills and called 911. He was darn right frightening. When you go to a doctor and you expect to be treated and know your cost when you pay and your billings to be correct if not they should know how to deal with people diplomatically but they do not appear to have that skillset or it is not the way the office operates and the buck stops with the Doctor's. If it is not the Doctor's office and it is now owned by a corporation that is even more reason to steer clear. So I am not sure what happened in the last 6 years and I was going to receive the cosmetic treatment by the other doctor but I would rather go without or find someone else. I always thought Dr. Thaler was nice but unfortunately when you hire someone to run your office and they have issues you will end up with issues. There are too many dermatologist listed with my insurance and will go elsewhere and would recommend unless you have a very submissive personality I would not go to this office. I did have my insurance rep contact them because I could no longer speak to any one in the office again. Something that could have been resolved with a little bit of understanding of the patient's prospective and diplomacy could have de-escalated a situation but when you have a person running an office that is either having a bad day or has a very bad temper is not the right person for a top role and represents your office overall. That will likely be the undoing of the practice. It seems that everyone in their billing department can act the way they do because their boss is even worse and it trickles down from there. So I paid my balance in full which I would have done had I gotten clear answers to my questions to begin with but the billing staff's approach is this is the way it is and we dont' make mistakes even though the first girl told me and my insurance company that they DID have issues with mailing and people were not getting their bills BUT Vern sad listen lady you pay up or I will see you in court in 15 days got it lady and let me tell you this yadda yadda then went on his rampage and threats and didn't let you say a word. You would pay your bill and wash your hands of a foul experience.
